So I jumped on the bandwagon early and even though the Radisson was incredibly nice it was just a bit of a walk. So I have a room in the Sheraton for next year.

It is $199 a night plus tax with two beds.

I know this is way early as Otakon just finished but you can't ask for a closer hotel considering the Sheraton is directly connected to the convention center and not three blocks up.

So not quite back from Otakon as I'm still in Virginia but OMG it was great!!

I was a bit insane and brought 11...yes 11 costumes and yet I still wasn't running around crazy with my head chopped off, so all good right XD.

I've never cosplayed so much D. Gray-man in my life. I went from Timothy to Allen to Lavi all in one day, not to mention wearing Grell in the middle of all that. It's all good though as we have some epic shots at the fountains and then some cute ones from our impromptu D. Gray pj party in the Radisson.

I probably spent way more than I should have, but I now have the Kuroshitsuji artbook and magazine with an awesome version of Grell that is now on my list of things to make.


Anyways this is the short version as I need to drive back. I'll make a full report later.

Anyone going that could possibly give me a room, cause if I don't have one I'm not going because frankly I don't have the funds to get a room alone and I just don't want to deal with the shit of con drama at the moment.

I had to put my youngest kitten down today. She was only 10 months old. It was for the best, even if it hurts. She could no longer walk and we were having to force feed her. She at least had a good life even if it was short. Her unique personality will never be forgotten.

I just wish I had had a little more time with her.

Alrighty everyone. I have the hotel for next years Otakon. We will be at the Radisson and its' 145 a night with two guests ans 185 a night with 4. Tax is 13.5

I'm putting this out here now so we don't have another fiasco like this year and I have reported the marriot for giving a wrong quote for the amount of people. Apparently so have others.

Anyways, yes I know its a long way off, but except for the Marriot and just a few rooms in the Radisson, everything is already sold out.

We are only 3 blocks away from the convention. 2 blocks up from the Days Inn. So we are closer to the charles street lobby entrance where the fountains are.

Ok another for people that need a ride. I can't afford a train ticket guys, as much as I wish I could since it would be fun. So I'll be once again driving the ten hours to Otakon. I'm currently hoping though that I can afford Otakon as I'm very very short on funds right now.


Anyways, please people tell me. I can only take two with me and the gas will be split between the three of us.

Ok this so far is the final list for the room as we’ve had a few people drop and the final price I hope. I’m really iffy about adding anymore as nine is pushing it. Also I need to know from everyone that this is the final list and that they are staying in the room. No more surprises ok. If we lose anymore it will probably get to expensive for most of us to go.

Also I know some of us are getting there, or most of us are getting there on Thursday. There have been a few groups who have talked about going out to eat that night, which include’s DLGR’s group and I’ve talked to Shey about it as well. It’d be nice if we all could and go out to eat and we are looking for something not to expensive since I know we are all tight on money.

Anyways, Otakon is less than a month away. Can’t wait to see everyone again and hopefully since we don’t have to worry about a skit this year we can all relax and enjoy it for the con that it is.

Ok guys this is so I can get a final count on the room and get somewhat of a schedule of when people will be arriving. I should be a the hotel by no later than 3pm on Thursday August 7th. Emily if I drive I will most likely drive up that Wednesday and stay with you. I know a few of us were talking about taking the train due to it possibly being cheaper and plus it'd be fun. I know its still a bit soon but I'd like to get things squared away as soon as possible.

As far as price f the room its standing at $75 dollars a person which is the best estimate I can get since the tax is crazy in Baltimore. We are staying in a double room at the Marriot and it runs $215 a night with 12% tax I believe. If someone could give me a beter estimate I'd be very grateful.

Also for those arriving on Thursday. Joe, Dan and DLGR have talked to me about getting our groups together to go out to eat and just hang out. With not having to deal with the masquerade this year it should be a lot less stressful and a lot more fun. We can actually relax and have fun and just hang out rather than run around like crazy like last year.

Also I know that most of us are doing something Tsubasa and a lot of us are doing Baccano! I think those are the only two group things that are planned.

I'm really looking forward to this years Otakon and can't wait to see everyone again!

Ok so I love my Daemon. He's so pretty!

I got a call this morning from my mom. The call that I was dreading. My grandmother passed away at 4:30am. I'm kinda in a numb state right now. I've cried. I've thought about things. It was just so sudden. She was fine at Thanksgiving and then when I went to wake her up to say goodbye before I left she wouldn't wake up.

I just don't know what to do right now. Its my prep week for finals and finals are next week. I also have a concert and audition this Sunday. I just don't feel I can do any of it right now. I feel useless in that I'm away from home and I can't even comfort my mom. I know this is hard on her. She no longer has any parents. She lost my granddad two years ago and now my grandmom.

I was always close with my Memaw. I don't know why but she was the only one I'd ever truly gotten close to. This is the first time that I've lost someone who had personally been close to me. I was close to my grandfather as well but not as close as I was to Memaw. I'm thankful that I was able to pick her up before Thanksgiving and got to talk with her most of the way down. We talked about possibly going to Washington DC to see the museums sincs she'd never been and how she was looking forward to my Christmas choir concert. She had been looking forward to that concert all year.

So I'm guessing the funeral will be this weekend. My mom and her sister are heading up to my grandmothers town to make the arrangements. All I can think is at least she's with my grandfather again. She was so depressed living without him. Its going to be very odd not having her around. She was so nice and was always stubborn and would refuse to accept help because she could do it herself. She had a personality that no one else has or will ever have and now its gone. I know one day I'll be able to say goodbye but when that day is I'm not sure yet.

Memaw I love you and I know you are in a better place and much happier.

Dear Santa... Dear Santa, This year I've been busy! Last Friday I gave change to a homeless guy (19 points). Last Tuesday I got in line at the supermarket at the same time as someone else and I didn't yield (-8 points). In February I turned dalai_liam in for farting in church (3 points). Last month I saved a busload of nuns in Angola (326 points). In October I punched alchephiliac in the arm (-10 points). Overall, I've been nice (330 points). For Christmas I deserve a Nintendo Wii! So Cosplaylab.com's look alike contest this month is Tsubasa! Finally I got to enter again. Anyways I entered with my Ashura costume. Can't wait to see who all entered. Good Luck to everyone!

So finally back from AUSA. It was a great con and I definately want to go back next year. Didn't really have any drama and had some great roomies.

ok on to the con report:

Friday:

-left at 10:30am...an hour later than we planned
-loooong drive up on 81(the never ending road)
-finally arrived at 6:30pm
-jumped into my ashura cosplay for tsubasa photoshoot..(did I mention I hadn't slept more than five hours for the entire week prior to this con.)
-ran around with Tohma trying to find said missing tsubasa photoshoot (never found them)
-crack pictures in Ashura and Fai
-went back up to the room and died..still in ashura (yes I slept in it all night. its comfy hehe)


Saturday:
-woke up and jumped into loveless cosplay
-ran around for a bit and had a interesting photoshoot (kayla I want those pics)
-got out of loveless and into Muraki for the Yami photoshoot
-out of Muraki and jumped into Abel for a trinity blood photoshoot
-jumped out of Abel and Into Ashura to go along with Tohma's Fai and Shey's Kurogane (had way to much fun doing spoiler pictures out on the balcony. We also crashed Mcdonalds in those costumes)
-back into trinity blood and had way to much fun running around as Cain and Abel....Cain doesn't need to drink (Braaaiiiinnsss!!)
-back into Ashura because we finally found the clamp shoot at like midnight....only problem they were all drunk....very interesting photoshoot
-sat down and stole Sengs' very very nice camera and took random pics....that he still needs to put up on his site.
-finally went to bed around 3am

Sunday:
-packed and got into Dark for a bit
-finally got everything to the car and changed into Soubi
-Loveless photoshoot with Kayla
-left around 3:30pm for the long trek home
-ran into Tohma on I-81 and caravaned with her
-got stuck in traffic and walked around on the interstate for a bit before calling Tohma and going to her house to crash for the night
-weeee horses and cats and dogs at Tohma's house (her dog Genji is adorable...he just has bad gas sometimes hehe)


Monday:
-left at 6am to get back to knoxville
-Tohma its not your spedometer thats off its mine...we found out the hard way....
-finally got back around 10:30 am


Overall a great con and great trip. Definately glad I went.
